0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • 95,520 proteomics experiments analyzed
  • ~1,700 new microproteins identified
  • New 'peptidein' class defined

"The TransCODE Consortium analyzed 95,520 proteomics experiments and found that about 25% of 7,264 non-canonical open reading frames (ncORFs) produce detectable peptides, leading to the identification of approximately 1,700 new microproteins and so-called peptideins. The findings expand the human proteome and are supported by annotation tools in GENCODE and PeptideAtlas."
